February 27th to April 30th 2006 - Art Collectors of Chania

Artworks are precious objects without any use value. Paintings, sculptures, engravings and drawings do not fulfill any living needs but rather reflect the desire of those collectors possessing them: they echo their passion and their thoughts, they share their routine and often develop a complicity with their entire life. It is therefore expected that collectors recognize themselves in the artworks they select..

September 22nd to October 22nd 2005 - The Art of Our Soul

Since the dawn of time visual arts, much like dreams, have been depicting the world of our soul and have been formulating our hopes, our expectations, and our fears. He was in love with "clear painting". This is obvious. Insistent in his choice to serve abstract art and its possibilities, exempted from any figurative disposition and with aesthetic products that emit a genuinely allusive atmosphere, Jannis Spyropoulos was justly described as "the classic of abstraction". The precious retrospective which includes a big number of his works has already been presented in a lot of Greek cities. Jannis Spyropoulos, the classic of abstraction now at the Municipal Art Gallery of Chania, Crete...
